The Ministry for Education will send a circular to all schools on Monday to secure their boundaries.

Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy says the circular is particularly for schools that are not secured properly.

Reddy made the comment in light of an incident where an unknown man attacked a student at a primary school in Suva yesterday.

“The student was not alone, the student had other friends with her, females friends they all yelled, what happened the student was supervised by the teacher, but the teacher quickly went to do some photocopying at that time and that’s time I think the intruder was watching from somewhere outside the fence and jumped over the fence and tried to handle the girl the girl yelled and the friends all yelled and teachers came running and chased the guy."

Neither the school nor police wanted to comment on the incident.
