The Education Ministry is advising the general public that all schools should be open today.

This is in response to some speculation that schools will remain closed today to give time for presiding officers in polling stations to complete their counting.

Acting PS for Education Basundra Kumar says all schools are open today and should operate normally.

She says for any school closure, the Supervisor of Elections will inform her but at the moment, there has been nothing and so all schools should operate normally today.

Kumar is also thanking school heads and committees for their assistance towards the smooth running of the election yesterday.
