Schools encouraged to take part in scouts

The Fiji Scouts Association is encouraging all schools to be part of the Scout Movement.

After years of decline, the Association has been trying to recruit new members for the last four years.

National Excutive Commissioner Joji Qaranivalu says, only 40 per cent of the schools in Fiji have scout movements.

Qaranivalu says, scout is a vital part of childrens learning process where members learn values, leadership, discipline..

Plans are already underway to celebrate the 100th year of scout existance in the country in 2014.
