The Divisional Police Commanders have been directed to ensure all necessary school related operations are ready for the start of the 2019 academic year.

Assistant Commissioner of Police and Chief Operations Officer Maretino Qiolevu is calling on Divisional heads to maximize Police visibility.

This is to ensure students, parents and teachers are rest assured that operations such as school patrols before and after is maintained at all school zones.

Qiolevu says the main focus for now is on the movement of people conducting back to school shopping and those returning from their holidays.

He adds teachers and members of the public need to work together in keeping children safe.
