The Sugarcane Growers Council is pleased that the second shipment of sugar export is underway.

Chief executive, Sundresh Chetty says they understand there will be five consignments of sugar exported this season with three buyers already confirmed.

Chetty says they remain optimistic that FSC will secure other buyers as this will also benefit the growers.

“We hope that the shipments that are been sent will fetch good price and in return the growers get the improved price for cane this season.”

So far FSC has secured buyers in Europe, China and the US.
