SCC urges Fijians to use bins or face spot fines

The Suva City Council has officers out and about the city monitoring those Fijians who are littering and fining them on the spot.

Acting chief executive, Bijay Chand says a key focus of the council is to ensure the City is clean.

Chand says this is an on-going challenge with some people littering and completely disregarding the rubbish bins in place.

In the last month, Chand says the council has been issuing $40 fine to people who have been caught littering.
