The two-day meeting, which commenced yesterday, saw the participation of most Pacific island states such as Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu including Australia and New Zealand.

It will focus on the major socio-economic implications of COVID-19, the short and medium-term options for recovery, as well as pacific resilience and financing.

The meeting is an important congregation of Economy Ministers and senior officials from around the region, and for the first time, the annual meeting is being held virtually.
