Saving and Investment can start at a young age

“You don’t need to be an adult to start saving and investing.”

This was the underlining message from 239 students nationwide who participated in the 2018 National Essay Competition.

Announcing the first and second runner ups of the competition, South Pacific Stock Exchange, chief executive, Krishika Narayan says 44 schools took part in the competition.

Narayan says the objective of the initiative is to raise their financial skills, challenge and build their confidence on savings and investments about the stock market.

The competition was divided into two categories –Year 9 to Year 10 and Year 11 to 13.

In category one 1st Runner Up was awarded to Dhaveeta Kumar of MGM while Neha Sharma of Bhawani Dayal Arya College which given 2nd Runner Up.

In category two, 1st Runner Up was awarded to Aftareen Khan of Rishikul Sanatan College and Grace Fong of Yat Sen Secondary School scooped the 2nd Runner up prize.

The competition was organised by the South Pacific Stock Exchange and the Ministry of Education.
