Savenaca commended for heroism

An 18-year-old boy was apprehended in Cunningham, Nasinu yesterday for robbing a 34-year-old woman of her mobile phone.
Police Chief of Operations, ACP Abdul Khan acknowledged the assistance rendered by 34-year-old Iowane Savenaca in the apprehension of the accused.
The suspect got off the bus at Fiji Dairy Corporative Limited bus stop and grabbed the woman’s phone and ran off.

However, he was chased and caught by Savenaca who was walking along the road.
The suspect was handed over to the Military Officers at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua before Police came and took him for questioning.
ACP Khan is hoping the public will continue to assist Police in arresting those involved in such crime.
