Nineteen roads in the greater Suva area will be re-sealed as part of the Suva Arterial Road Upgrading Project 2.

Fiji Roads Authority, Chief executive, Jonathan Moore says this will mean there will be better traffic flow and the lifespan for these roads will increase, once work is completed.

Moore says the road maintenance that was due to begin this year, have been postponed to April next year as they are in the final stages of submitting recommendations.

“In the Suva City Center recently, there’s been a lot of re-surfacing work which is very quick. This SARUP 2 project is not the same. This is a total refurbishment. We go right down to the sub-base and re-build the whole road for a 25-year life.”

The 19 roads are within Vatuwaqa, Toorak, Samabula, Waimanu Road and part of Kings Road.
