The recent flooding has left people with poor sanitation and in need of proper hygiene.

Fiji Red Cross Operations Manager Eseroma Ledua says there are people who need proper shelter and sewage systems.

’Currently since the water has receded there’s a big problem on sanitation because majority of these villagers and communities and settlements they don’t have proper sewerage system so when the water came in, it brought in a lot of things that were underground so there is a lot of sanitation problem that is a concern to us especially on the general hygiene of the community."
