Mohammed Saneem is suing Shailendra Raju, a Fijian residing in New Zealand of $1million for allegedly defaming him and his family on social media last month.

Saneem is taking legal action against Raju in his personal capacity and has also hired a private lawyer.

Saneem’s lawyer Shailend Krishna filed an application to serve legal documents to Raju in Auckland which was granted by the Lautoka High court.

Raju used to work for former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase when he was in Fiji.

Meanwhile, Krishna says individuals who live in other countries, behind the computer on a keyboard disparaging characters of individuals here in Fiji need to learn and stop attacking individuals and their families.

Krishna said the language these people use is shocking and are obviously not productive with their time at all.

The legal papers are expected to be served to Raju next week by Krishna’s law firm based in Lautoka.
