A family is in a state of shock after their three bedroom home at Bureta Street in Samabula, Suva burnt to the ground this morning.

Home owner Bobby Dave spoke to FBC News while fire fighters worked tirelessly to douse the flames that had fully engulfed his house.

Dave says while he’s thankful that no lives were lost, the family is now homeless.

It’s unclear at this stage what caused the fire.

An investigation is being conducted by the National Fire Authority and police.
