October 27, 2018 6:57 pm

The villagers of Vanuakula in Ra now have access to safer, cleaner drinking water.

This is after Fiji Red Cross Society, Director General, Filipe Nainoca opened the Water Spring Protection Project and the Communal Toilet Project.

The project is part of the Society’s Recovery Programme which is funded by the Australian Red Cross.

This is also the Society’s emergency Plan of Action for communities that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.

The project aims to assist those recovering from the devastation by building safer, resilient and healthier communities with the support from FRCS branches, volunteers and partners.

Vanuakula village headman Evia Bavou says they are very fortunate to have access to clean drinking water.
