Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has congratulated Fiji on it’s national holiday today commemorating it’s 45th year of Independence.
In his message, Medvedev says he is confident that further strengthening of Russia-Fiji relations, development of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economy, science and culture corresponds to the longstanding interest of both countries.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also sent a congratulatory message to his Fijian counterpart Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.
He says for the past decades Fiji has made significant progress in the social and economic development and strengthened its position on the international arena.
Sergey says Russia considers this as a basis for the advancement of the Russian-Fijian cooperation in a wide range of areas.
