Rural road upgrade starts

The Fiji Roads Authority has started upgrading 25 kilometers of rural roads around the country.

Chief Executive Jonathan Moore says these road upgrades started two weeks ago in various locations.

Moore says that these roads need immediate work.

“Twenty- five roads underway, there is another 90km of rural road maintenance is actually been awarded this week. It’s quite significant to cross all three divisions. Some of the rural roads that we working on now need urgent upgrades.”

Moore says the contract for the 25 kilometers rural roads has already been given a period of 12 months.
