Professor Ian Rouse has stepped down as the Acting Vice Chancellor for Fiji National University.

Rouse held the post for 10 months after he was asked by Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy.

Chair of FNU Council and Chancellor Ikbal Jannif says the process of appointing the new Vice Chancellor is progressing well.

The appointment committee has met twice.

The first round of interviews was held last Friday and two applicants have been short-listed.

The new Vice Chancellor is expected to be appointed by late November or early December.
