Work on the four lane project between nine miles and Nausori Bridge is expected to be completed by June.

Fiji Roads Authority, Chief Executive, Jonathan Moore, says the project started four years ago, but the contract with the China Railway First Group was terminated which resulted in the delay.

Moore says work has now resumed with the Dayals Quarries and Higgins Fiji taking over the project.

“There is a lot of activity on the road right now and we are on track to finish by June next year for all the sections. You will now see a lot of people then usually before and we are monitoring the work every week to ensure it is going the right way.”

Apart from the four-lane project, the FRA is expected to start the second Suva Arterial Road Upgrade, whereby, nineteen roads in the greater Suva area will undergo maintenance.
