The new four-lane section between the Suva and Nausori corridor has been noted as a speeding hotspot for irresponsible drivers.

The Land Transport Authority has noted that motorists continuously ignore the 50Kph speed limit along the mentioned section of the highway.

Through Police monitoring effort along the area, 55 drivers were booked for speeding, five for careless driving, a person was booked for using a mobile phone while driving and 14 for miscellaneous driving offences.

LTA will be working with Police to reduce speeding and careless driving along the section.
