The four-lane project on Kings Road in Suva, between Rewa Bridge and 9 Miles is in its prime stages.

The Fiji Roads Authority says their engineers and contractors have been working to ensure the progress in all aspects of the project is completed by June.

Chief Executive, Jonathan Moore says some of the works that have been executed so far include asphalt paving works, newly constructed footpaths and cycle lanes.

This also includes the installation of street light poles, median fences, and bus shelters as well as improving the utility services.

Moore says the inclusion of the cycle lane is a green initiative of the Authority that has been incorporated into the footpath design.

He says this initiative aims to be an influencing factor towards global warming and climate change.
