Conceptual designs for 4 lane between Nadi and Lautoka underway

The conceptual designs for the four way lane between Nadi and Lautoka is currently underway.

Fiji Roads Authority, Chief Executive Jonathan Moore, says the planning is in process and that they have given the Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport until next year for them to come up with a concept plan.

“It’s a very complex exercise lots of stakeholders and a lot of things to consider. We have not only land issues, environmental issues and social issues we have to consider as well. So rather than doing this in a very fast and ill-considered way we are taking a bit more time and doing it properly.”

Moore says the distance between Nadi and Lautoka is around 30km and half of that they will need to build new roads to be able to connect it to the four lane project.
