Driver’s attitude on our roads needs to change says Fiji Roads chief executive Jonathan Moore.

Moore says accidents along the main highways are increasing day by day and to address this issue drivers need to be more proactive.

FRA says the accidents along the Nakasi-Nausori four-lane has been increasing almost on a daily basis.

“We have a few concerns about the use of Kings Road. The new four-lane section. We have had so many accidents on that road and every one of those accidents has been put down to careless driving. There is no problem with the signage, there is no problem with the light and the road itself, it all has to do with driver behavior.”

Moore says careless driving is one major cause of accidents along this new highway.

He says due to the accidents, FRA properties are also being damaged and drivers will have to pay for the damages.

The FRA is urging pedestrians to follow road rules as well.
