Road works in Lami will resume today and it will be undertaken daily from 9am to 3pm and from 8pm to 5am.

Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive, Jonathan Moore says the FRA would prefer to lay the asphalt at night, but the asphalt plant is not permitted to operate after 5pm and 8am

Moore says the one thing that rain does seriously affect is sealing of the road and they’ve lost at least 4 days in the last week due to heavy rain.

The asphalt plant is also not allowed to work on a Sunday so there was no sealing yesterday.

Moore says they intend to complete the work by the end of this week, weather permitting.

FRA will be keeping off the road during peak hours but there is likely to be congestion during the day.
