2712 drivers have been booked by the police and the Land Transport Authority in just 11 days.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says these drivers will be scrutinized y after being booked for various offences during an ongoing National Traffic Operation.

Naisoro says the 2270 people were booked for speeding, 42 for non compliance of seat belt regulations, 39 for careless driving and the remainder for other road lue violations.

She says these drivers will be subject to further action if they are repeat offenders.

According to Naisoro, despite repeated warnings and advisories people are not willing to cooperate with law enforcers.

She adds taking repeat offenders off Fiji’s roads seems to be the best option.
