Road safety patrols a must tomorrow: Tudravu

The Fiji Police Force and the Land Transport Authority will be keeping a close watch on our roads during the Fiji Day public holiday tomorrow.

A number of people will be taking to the roads with major celebrations happening around the country alongside the Inter District Championships in Suva.

Police Deputy Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says many accidents occur usually during public holidays due to drunk driving and speeding.

”The weather is also not on our side. We hope that the drivers do take care of the vehicles and the pedestrians and the passengers as they enjoy the celebration of the Independence Day.

He says while Fijians celebrate Fiji’s independence, safety of all citizens remains paramount.
