The 49-year-old man from Vuda, Lautoka who was involved in a road accident last Saturday has passed away.

The victim who was admitted at the Lautoka Hospital following the accident, died on Sunday.

The victim was allegedly drinking with friends and police claim when he wanted to stop a bus, he went to the middle of the road and as a result was hit by the bus.

The post mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow.

The bus driver was questioned over the weekend and released.

The road death toll currently stands at 36.
