Some students from the Ratu Kadavulevu School in Tailevu have been taken in for questioning in relation to the alleged corporal punishment case involving their school principal.

As investigation continues, Chief of Intelligence ACP Vakacegu Toduadua, says they are trying to gather more information on the case.

Earlier this year, a female teacher who is also the wife of the school principal tried to stop the students from vandalizing the school wall and that’s when the students allegedly swore at her.

It is alleged the Principal tried to discipline the group by applying corporal punishment and the matter was reported to Police.

ACP Toduadua says some of the RKS Under18 players who have just returned from Japan will also be questioned later this week.

He says investigation is expected to be completed by the end of the week and the file will then be transferred to Office of the Director Public Prosecution.

It is believed the school principal has been stood down pending investigation.
