RKS leaders meet PM over suspended Principal

Seven prefects of Ratu Kadavulevu School met Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday over the future of the school’s suspended Principal Peni Senikarawa.

The Prefects including the two deputy head boys and two house captains are appealing for Senikarawa’s reinstatement.

Fiji Sun reports Bainimarama encouraged the young leaders to maintain and uphold the discipline and reputation of the school while they wait for the Education Ministry to complete the process of investigation.

Bainimarama reminded the students that it’s during times like these that the calling for their individual leadership is at its strongest.

The Prime Minister has also given his reassurance that he has directed the Education Ministry to swiften the process of the investigation so as to bring stability to the current dilemma.

Principal Senikarawa was stood down pending investigations into allegation that he used corporal punishment on some students when a group of students allegedly attacked a teacher verbally.

The teacher is alleged to try and stop them from vandalizing a wall in one of the school buildings.

FBC News understands the Principal than tried to discipline the group by allegedly administering corporal punishment.
