November 8, 2017 4:23 pm

Local marching bands from around the country will gather in Suva next month to display their best parade performance for the RFMF military tattoo and Centennial celebration.

Leaders of the parade – the RFMF band – have been preparing for the past month and are ready to wow the crowd.

Former band member, Rabici Vuikadavu, joined the band in 1970’s and retired ten years ago, but today he’s one of the many pioneer band members assisting the group in composing for the event.

He says it’s been a great opportunity to return and give back to the force for giving him some of the best times in the force.

“When I first joined and every time we go overseas we were going as performers but now we will be organizing and performing as well.”

More than 80 RFMF band members, together with the Police band and the National youth band, will be part of the centennial celebration on December 8th at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
