A rental car company will reward anyone, who reports illegal rental operations to the Land Transport Authority.

Suva Car Rental Managing Director, Mohammed Sareem says something must be done to stop people hiring out their private vehicles as rental cars.

If there is a private rental car that you know and that you have hired and you want the $50 in the end after the hire you will have to bring the car to LTA and charge the person who has been hiring out cars.

Several rental company operators will meet tomorrow to draw up a plan of action to try and curb illegal rental operations.

The LTA says it’s investigating such operations.
