Retirement home to be established for women

The Fiji Muslim League is planning to set up a retirement home at Makoi 8 miles in Nasinu dedicated for women only.

President, Hafizud Dean Khan says there is a need for facilities as such.

He adds the retirement home for women will ensure they are not neglected.

“We want to make it much more higher level than an ordinary old people’s home so we can also have people who can afford to send their grandparents or mothers whoever and they can pay for it and those who cants afford than of course we will look after them.”

The construction is expected to start in the next 24 months.

The League owns eight acres of land at 8 miles where the Makoi Women’s Vocational center is also located.

More than six hundred women have graduated with certificates in Culinary, Sewing and Hydroponic without any cost from this center.

Khan revealed they will soon start care givers course as well.
