Fashion designers Aisea Konrote, Cherish Prasad and Epeli Tuibeqa will donate an attire from their clothing labels to go for auction at the Savusavu Fashion and Arts show tonight

The Fashion and Arts show is being organized to raise awareness for the auto-immune disease Lupus, and to raise funds for Lupus Foundation Fiji (LFF).

LFF Deputy Executive Coordinator, Kali Turagaiviu says proceeds from the auction will go towards the work of the Foundation.

The three top fashion designers, showcased their labels in front of the Savusavu public at Daku Resort last night and will be displaying other works today.

Meanwhile, Daku Resort has become the first resort to pledge its support towards the Foundation.

Deputy Resort Manager, Talei Osborne says their support is for a worthy cause.

“Two reasons we wanted to do this. First is to showcase Savusavu and to show people in Fiji what we have on offer and the other is to show support for the Lupus Foundation in their beginning stages here in the North.”

Relatively new, the LFF was only launched in May.

Lupus is a disease that results from a malfunctioning immune system, or basically when the white blood cells turn back and attack the body’s tissues and organs.
