Resort aimed at assisting children

June 10, 2018 5:03 am

In an effort to achieve their goal of assisting children, the owners of Resort Relax Fiji have decided to host a first ever children’s program at the resort monthly.

Program Coordinator Uraia Rasake says that the owners had lived in the US for many years and while on a visit to Fiji they encountered an experience which has led them to do this.

Rasake says that during their visit, the Reddy family were lazing around a pool at a resort when they noticed that a father and daughter were trying to also use the pool but were stopped by the security as they were not house guests.

He says at this point the family decided to assist children who would never dreamt of going to a resort.

“The event is purely focused on children and I think it was one of the dreams of the resort owners to do something for children as we know that the resorts in Fiji focuses a lot on family and adults but nothing purely on children thus this event.”

Rasake the program yesterday was the inaugural event where at least 50 children turned up with their parents.

He says the day was spent on games for the children, lunch and also a prize giving ceremony.

The next event will take place on the 21st of next month.
