Residents in Vunikavikaloa Rakiraki say they’re going through the same experience from Tropical Cyclone Winston earlier this year.

One resident Gajraj Singh says residents are living in fear because most of them still do not have a home.

Singh says those who were living in tents have now moved to evacuation centres.

”The people here are afraid because it seems like second Winston is coming. The situation is very bad here and it’s raining heavily. It seems like how we started the year by facing Winston, we will end the year with the same experience again.”

Close to one thousand people live in the area.
