Reports of flooding in Sigatoka

Reports of flooding in some parts of Sigatoka has been received by the Divisional Police Commander West.

Sargent Wame Boutolu says the western division has been experiencing occasional rain.

This has resulted in the blockage of drains that has caused flooding in some districts of Sigatoka.

“Only reports of flooding we got so far was from Sigatoka town but it’s due to poor drainage. Our officers have been going out informing people to be glued to the radio and television to monitor the weather situations.”

Meanwhile, Fijians living in the western division are advised to carefully monitor the current weather conditions and to take heed of advisors from authorities.
