Reports can be lodged against Water Authority’s metered customers who are found to be misusing water.

This as the Authority launched Water Conservation Campaign yesterday as the effects of dry spell in the Western Division is taking its toll.

Board Director, Kamal Gounder says people can take pictures and make videos of those misusing water and forward it to the Authority.

“Our awareness team will go to these communities and start talking to them and explain the reason why we are doing this. We are not in the dry spell right now however we are trying to manage our resources. So if we move to drought we have sufficient level of water in our sources and catchment to meet the demands during this period."

The two-month campaign will feature tips on saving water.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the dry spell will continue until next month.
