The Health Minister is calling on the public to report any cases which are of concern to the Ministry instead of posting it on social media.

Rosy Akbar says the Ministry does not answer to posts on social media as it can be false news or rumours.

She says once a matter is reported to the ministry or to her office then only then she can take action.

“If a genuine case or a family comes to us like I said people have different agendas for posting things on social media but we welcome family members to come to us seeking reasons and we investigate into their claims. Whether it’s a case of the past or whether it’s a case that has happened we will still treat it very seriously.”

There has been a surge of fake posts on social media concerning child births, child delivery, deaths as well as services.

However, when contacted the Health Ministry discovered they were either false stories posted by unknown accounts or fake news.

The health Minister is calling on the public not to easily be swayed by these posts however, a report filed to the Ministry will ensure an investigation is carried out into such cases.
