Repair works have begun on the high-pressure water pipeline from the Vaturu Dam to the Nagado Water Treatment Plant.
WAF General Manager Customer Services and Acting General Manager Operations, Sekove Uluinayau says the repair works was much needed as the leakage had deteriorated over couple of weeks.
Uluinayau says the works are being done so that it does not cause more damage to the water supply system.
He adds the repair work is a bit complicated therefore it will take a maximum of 2 to 3 days of continuous 24 hours of works.
He adds the teams have placed a total of 100 water tanks in nearly all the villagers and communities which will be facing water disruptions.
Uluinayau adds they have a total of 19 water carting trucks that will be deployed to refill these water tanks and to cart water to customers.
