There is still a delay in the removal of the asbestos in the old Nausori market.

Minister for Employment and Productivity, Jone Usamate says the ministry is still working with the Nausori Town Council to ensure safe removal of non-friable asbestos.

“So we are aware of areas where there is asbestos and we will make sure to working with those organizations that when it is removed, it is removed in an accordance way with an accordance that keeps people safe.”

Usamate says the ministry is taking extreme care with regards to this situation and ensures that the removal process meets international standards and absolutely guarantees public safety.
