The Methodist Church of Fiji strongly believes that all religious organizations should deviate from engaging in political issues as this can affect their services to the communities.
Speaking to FBC News Methodist Church of Fiji President Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa says every religious organisation should be independent.
However, he says while church leaders are free to support a political party, church ministers to be thoughtful before deciding to contest elections.
“We have been asking our people to be very cautious at this time as we draw ourselves closer to election, it is an important part of our lives as citizens of this countries and it is also important as we cast our vote on what government we think.”
Reverend Vakadewavosa is also calling on all religious organisations to work towards providing a better Fiji for tomorrow.
