Regional Security Strategy to safeguard MSG countries

The deliberations on the draft Regional Security Strategy has successfully concluded.

The draft Strategy spans over five years and is aimed at building a secure and resilient Melanesian Community for the future.

Director-General of the MSG Ambassador Amena Yauvoli thanked member countries for their concerted efforts in drafting a robust strategy with the vision of a safe and prosperous region.

The strategy will be inclusive and strives also to uphold the Melanesian values of patriotism, national unity, and rule of law, democracy, human dignity, social justice and equity.

The adoption of a Regional Security Strategy is a unified approach taken by leaders of the Member countries to respond to challenges of the border and maritime security, cybersecurity, natural disaster and climate change.
