Red zone areas for aggravated burglaries and burglar cases revealed

Close to 28 areas around the country have been marked as red zones and possible targets for criminals considering the high number of burglary cases recorded in the last two weeks.

These areas are: Nailuva Road, Grantham Rd, Fletcher Rd, Vatuwaqa, Stage 1 & 2 cunningham,Siga Road and Tagimoucia Road in Laucala Beach, Valelevu, Mandir St in Nadera, Cakacaka Road in Caubati, Secala Road in Nasole, Muanikoso squatters, upper samabula and Namadi heights in the southern division.

Denarau, Simla and Marine Drive in Lautoka, Savunawai Stage 2 in Votualevu, Bountiful estate in Waqadra and Balata in Ba in the western division.

Waila, Lal Singh Road and Lomaivuna in the east.

Lorotari, Namara, Savusavu town, Delaivuna, Naqara and Drekeniwai Settlement in the Northern division.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says they also step up their operations this month.

“If they knew the house is vacant that means there are some observations that have been done that is why the security tips you see comes into place that what we have mentioned so far in the community policing-the need to know your neighbor. You will witness that there will be a little bit of rise of our operations that are currently being undertaken. Roadblocks will also be up to let the public know and be aware.”

Twenty-six homes were broken into in the Southern division, eight in the west, three in the east and three in the North.

Two aggravated burglary cases were also recorded during this period from the South and the West.
