Record number of visitor arrivals in October

A record of over 79,000 tourists visited Fiji in October representing an increase of 1.2% compared to last year.

The Fiji Bureau of Statistics reveal increases were recorded from Japan, Australia, the USA, Europe, UK and the rest of Asia.

However, there were less visitors from the region, China, South Korea, Canada and New Zealand.

Visitors arriving for holiday purposes accounted for 78.4% of total arrivals, 7.2% came to visit friends or relatives, 3.7% came for business purposes while 10.7% visited Fiji for other reasons.
