The Real Estate Agents Act will undergo a major review next year.

“We will invite the real estate agents and stakeholders to give their suggestions and the government department will also work on that and bring about amendments.”

Meanwhile Jokhan Realtors – Reginald Jhokan says it is important that everyone adheres to the provisions in the Act.

“Implementing that is good but policing it, looking after each sale that is important, the lawyers need to be looked after – how much money came in and what was the payout – if that is done imagine the money the government will make.”

Fiji’s real estate industry is going through one of its biggest growths in history with demand for houses in prime locations increasing.
