REACH Program receives positive feedback

Villages in the district of Naviti, Nacula and Yasawa have commended officials of REACH programme for visiting their villages to assist them with legal advice, rights and responsibilities, health screening with cervical and prostate cancer tests and business registrations.

The Rights, Empowerment and Cohesion Project better known as REACH is an outreach program facilitated by the Poverty Alleviation Ministry.

REACH coordinator, Salesi Savu says they have received positive feedbacks from the villages.

Savu says the REACH programme is intended to provide a one stop service delivery for villagers to seek assistance without travelling a far distance.

He says they are planning to revisit the Yasawa Island for monitoring, social protection reviews and another service delivery.

The REACH team has completed awareness in the district of Yasawa and Nacula and is currently in the district of Naviti.

Meanwhile, the sixteen member government team currently on the island is providing mobile awareness and service delivery on the social, economic and legal rights of the constitution.
