Former President and staunch advocate in the fight against HIV and AIDS has been appointed the United Nations Regional Goodwill Ambassador for the Pacific.
Ratu Epeli Nailatikau’s appointment was formalized last night, at the culmination of World AIDS day.
Speaking yesterday, Ratu Epeli says the fight against HIV and AIDS needs an inclusive approach
“HIV/AIDS is a multifaceted thing and you’ve got to have a multifaceted approach and reply, you can’t just concentrate on one thing, eventually I always list from family values to begin with and go through using abstinence down to practicing safe sex to the use of condoms”.
The theme this year for World AIDS day is focused on zero AIDS related death, zero new infections and zero discrimination.
