Rare and dramatic 'supermoon' next Sunday

September 19, 2015 8:47 pm

A total lunar eclipse will spawn a rare and dramatic ‘supermoon’ blood moon next Sunday.

Supermoons occur when the moon reaches its full phase at or near the satellite’s closest approach to Earth, and appears abnormally large and bright as a result.

Fijians can expect to see this next Sunday as long as the night is cloudless.
