The Prosecution in the rape case of Infamous Pastor from the Jezreel Lion of Judah Church – Jone Cokanauto wants him to be sentenced to twenty three years with a non-parole of twenty-two years.
Prosecutor Meli Vosawale made the submission yesterday following Cokanauto’s conviction as he was found guilty by Judge Justice Salesi Temo on all counts of sexual offense charges.
This includes five counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and four counts of indecent assault.
Cokanauto raped four women in his church congregation between 2002 and 2015.
Vosawale says this case is a serious breach of trust saying the complainants used to look up on the Pastor and that there was a huge gap between the Pastor and the witnesses.
In their submission, the Defense requested the Judge give a concurrent sentence to Cokanauto.
Cokanauto will be sentenced at 11:30am.
