A 29 year old man charged with 2 counts of rape has been remanded in custody.

The accused is alleged to have raped his 7 month old daughter on two occasions since October last year.

The man told Nadi Magistrate Serumi Turaga that he wishes to apply for legal aid.

Magistrate Turaga has ordered that the accused be remanded at the Natabua Corrections facility until the case is called in the the Lautoka High Court next month.

The accused from the interior is believed to have been confronted by his wife who then reported the matter to police.
