Police have confirmed the man charged for the alleged rape of a child in Nakasi three weeks ago has a pending case at the Lautoka High Court.

Laitia Nalawa and three others allegedly broke into a villa in Rakiraki and robbed a Canadian couple in March last year.

One of Nalawa’s accomplices is charged with rape in the same case.

The thirty-one year old is at the Korovou Remand Centre to reappear at Suva High Court on August 7th.

He has been charged with one count each of rape, assault with intent to rape, aggravated robbery and theft regarding a separate incident.
